Prince George and Princess Charlotte *almost* stole the show at the Royal Wedding in their duties as pageboy and bridesmaid, but we couldn’t help but wonder why we were only given a fleeting glimpse of the young royals during Harry and Meghan’s big day.

We saw them enter the church, along with the Duchess of Cambridge, and they followed Meghan Markle down the aisle. But while all 10 of the young members of the bridal party were ushered into a side room for the marriage service, only eight emerged afterwards to walk behind the happy couple as they exited the church.

If you wondered why they weren’t accompanying their fellow wedding party members in their duty, you weren’t alone.

But there was a simple reason for their apparent absence: they dropped back in order to hold their parents’ hands and exit the chapel with them.

Cute!

While much of the focus was on the happy couple, Charlotte’s adorable wave and George’s tired, shy behaviour was enough to take some of the limelight away from the stunning bride.

Prince William is said to have given a "naughty" speech at the evening reception, but it's not known whether George and Charlotte accompanied he and their mother to the party.

However, judging by the busy morning they had and George's sleepy face, we'll guess that the two young royals joined their baby brother Prince Louis at home, while the Duke and Duchess celebrated with the newlyweds.
