Where are Bling Empire stars Kelly Mi Li and Andrew Gray now?
Following the success of Selling Sunset, Love Is Blind and Too Hot To Handle, Netflix's Bling Empire is the latest reality TV series to take the streaming platform by storm. The show, filmed in 2019, follows a group of ludicrously wealthy Asian socialites and influencers as they waltz around Los Angeles buying up designer outfits and diamonds, eating at fancy restaurants, attending lavish parties and occasionally falling out (hello Christine and Anna).
Model Kevin Taejin Kreider is the only cast member who isn't outrageously wealthy, and a lot of the plot revolves around him and best friend Kane Lim, who is very much a millionaire (in episode one Kevin reveals he “owns the shopping malls you go into in South East Asia”).
But we also soon come to find that a lot of Bling Empire's focus is on entrepreneur Kelly Mi Li and her boyfriend, former Power Rangers actor turned producer Andrew Gray. In the first episode, we initially see the loved-up couple sharing a sweet moment together at home and talking about marriage, but it wasn't long before worrying cracks in their relationship started to show.
Later in the episode, billionaire Anna Shay casually treated Kelly and Andrew to a trip to Paris. But when Kelly left Andrew at the hotel to go on a shopping trip with Anna, he ended up calling her to shout down the phone about how angry he was at being left behind.
On speaker phone as Anna (and the internet) watched on in horror, he shouted, "What the f**k is going on? Your lack of effort drives me f**king crazy."
Kelly revealed it wasn't the first time he'd behaved this way and in the following episode the pair were filmed at a counselling session where he talked about having abandonment issues.
Following the session, the couple decided to separate and Kelly went on a date with Kevin, who admitted from the start that he didn't like Andrew and couldn't see them staying together. "I actually don't know what Kelly sees in Andrew. I just don't take Andrew seriously. He's definitely got this douchey side to him," he said in a voice over before predicting they've only got "a couple months left".
But struggling to break things off completely, Andrew visited Kelly at home and the pair ended up kissing. After hooking up, Kelly confessed to camera: "Kelly one is always like 'hey Kelly, get him out of your house, it's bad and you're playing with fire. But Kelly two is always like 'look at him, he's so sweet. He changed this time'.
Admitting she's still got feelings for him, she added: "And Kelly two, for some reason, always kicks Kelly one in the butt."
Despite the kiss, Kelly later insisted they were definitely over this time, especially after he came over to question her about who she'd been on a date with.
But fast forward to the season finale, and it looked like Kelly and Andrew might have reconciled after she went to visit him.
So, are they together today? While their social media profiles don't currently show any solid evidence that they're an item, they do still follow each other.
It's clear they were still together in December 2019 when Andrew posted a picture of their dog and said he was going to miss him while he went travelling. The dog then made another appearance on his grid in September 2020, which was cryptically captioned "one hug/smooth is never enough". But since then? Nothing. Kelly's latest Instagram uploads show her having fun with her friends and family.
On January 25 2021, during a fan Q&A, Kelly confirmed she was in a relationship but didn't say who with. When a fan asked if she was currently single, Kelly shared: "No I'm in a happy committed relationship and he loves to surprise me."
She also admitted it was hard to look back at those scenes with Andrew, which makes us think her new boyfriend is definitely not Andrew-shaped?
But, Bustle has pointed out that Andrew now has his own clothing line, AMG clothing, which is being distributed by Greyscale Lab - a company Kelly is a partner at. Whether it means they're still close, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
