West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of versatile full-back Pipa on a season-long loan deal from Bulgarian side Ludogorets, the club has announced.

The Spaniard, who has worked under Carlos Corberan before at Huddersfield Town and Olympiacos, sures up the right side of defence for the Baggies after concerns over depth.

There had been somewhat of a meltdown on social media throughout the day as Albion supporters to and froed about believing news. The longer it went on, the more it was doubted that a deal would be completed.

But it has and West Brom now have a player with Champions League experience in their ranks and Corberan is absolutely delighted to be reunited with a former colleague.

“Pipa is a player I know well having worked with him twice before, and I am delighted to welcome him to the club, particularly as he was so enthusiastic about joining Albion,” Corberan said.

“He is a versatile player with experience of the Championship, Champions League, and La Liga, and he helps cover our needs at right-back and right wing-back.

“It is important we have competition in all positions of the pitch and bringing in Pipa increases our defensive options on the right, as well as allowing a younger player to gain experience on loan.

“I am pleased a player of his experience and professionalism is joining the club for the season,” Corberan continued, via the West Brom website.
