·1-min read

During Lockdown, we, as a nation, were obsessed with recreating our favourite fast food menu items as we couldn’t get our hands on a load of them for ages.

And, we have to admit, we got pretty good at some of them. Like, this slow cooker KFC is da bomb, and this guy is almost certain he came up with the exact recipe for the Colonel’s Original Recipe Chicken. But, as good as both of those are, they were never going to be quite as good as the real deal, were they?

So, we wanted to find out how it is that the guys at KFC make their chicken so damn tasty. And what’s the best way to do that? By sending me to the KFC kitchen, that’s how! And it turns out it’s not as easy as it seems.

Despite trying my hardest, while learning how to coat the chicken in those 11 secret herbs and spices, I couldn’t get out of anyone what’s in the secret recipe. Sorry guys.

And as well as learning how to make the actual Kentucky Fried Chicken, I was also taught how to build the iconic burgers, wraps and salads. To say the condiment guns were tricky to master, would be an understatement.

And despite my creations not being up to the usual KFC lookswise, they tasted banging. And that's all that really matters, right?
