Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has landed her next movie role.

The hugely in-demand actress has signed up to star in a mysterious film project opposite The Batman's Barry Keoghan and musician The Weeknd, who is soon to star in his own TV series The Idol.

According to Deadline, very little is known about this film – nothing has been released about the plot and there's not even an official title yet.

What is known is that the project comes from Trey Edward Shults, who has co-written the film with The Weeknd and Reza Fahim, as well as directing. Shults is the co-creator of The Weeknd's aforementioned series The Idol.

Production is apparently underway on this unnamed film, so perhaps we can expect some more solid news and additional casting soon. The Weeknd will score the project with producer OPN.

Ortega is hugely busy, as she recently confirmed that a second season of her Netflix series Wednesday is in the works. She also reprises her role as Tara Carpenter in Scream 6.

Keoghan is coming off a BAFTA win and an Academy Award nomination for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin, and is also a part of both the Marvel and DC film universes.

Wednesday streams on Netflix – season 2 has been confirmed.
