Wayne Brady has a new gig with GLAAD.
The Emmy Award-winning multihyphenate has been tapped to host the 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton on March 14. News of Brady teaming up with the media advocacy organization comes after he came out as pansexual to People in August 2023, telling the magazine his definition of “pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or nonbinary. Being able to be attracted across the board.”

On the heels of the revelation about his sexuality, Brady joined GLAAD’s Spirit Day concert held at the Belasco in Los Angeles on Oct. 18. Ten days later, he also showed support for another LGBTQ organization, GLSEN, by turning up at a fundraising event at NeueHouse Hollywood. He nodded to the warm welcome in his GLAAD statement. He also supports Broadway Backwards and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles in addition to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young.
“It is with immense pride that I was asked to host this year’s GLAAD Media Awards ceremony, celebrating a community that has welcomed me with open arms,” he said. “The stories created by and for LGBTQ people bring us closer to a world of unity, inclusivity and acceptance, and I’m honored to help recognize the valuable contributions the queer community has made in entertainment and media.”
Brady fronts the upcoming Hulu docuseries Wayne Brady: The Family Remix. The show focuses on his blended family, including ex-wife and business partner Mandie Taketa, their 21-year-old daughter Maile, and Mandie’s new partner Jason. The series is produced by Wayne and Mandie’s joint production company, A Wayne and Mandie Creative, along with Fremantle. This spring, Brady returns to Broadway in a new production of The Wiz.
The 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards are presented by Gilead Sciences, Inc. and Hyundai with additional support from Hornitos, Delta Air Lines and Sony Music Group. The full list of this year’s nominees can be found here.
