While we might not see Kim Cattrall return to our screens in the Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That..., fans of the actor can now rejoice as she's starring in the highly-anticipated sitcom, How I Met Your Father.
Just as we were trying to come to terms with the British actor not signing up for the SATC sequel, along with her fellow co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York-Goldenblatt), Cattrall has stunned us with an appearance in a new How I Met Your Father trailer, released on Thursday, alongside Hilary Duff.
How I Met Your Father is a spin-off of the popular sitcom series, How I Met Your Mother, which aired from 2005 to 2014. The new Hulu series will air on January 18, and we can't wait to see Cattrall and Duff take to the screen together.
According to the Deadline, Cattrall narrates the series and plays an older version of Duff's character Sophie, who is recounting the story of how she met his father to her son. The series also stars Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa and Tom Ainsley.
'This is the story of how I met your father,' Cattrall says at the beginning of the trailer.
If her How I Met Your Father character is anything like SATC's Samantha Jones, we can expect her accounts of romances with fictional characters to be as unapologetic as ever.
Cattrall recently wrapped up filming the comedy About My Mother, in which she stars as a US senator named Tigger, alongside Oscar-winning Robert De Niro. The project comes after she played the leading role as the matriarch of a wealthy family in Southern America for 2020 series Filthy Rich. Unfortunately the show was cancelled after just one season.
In the last week the 65-year-old has seemingly reacted to the latest And Just Luke That... series, in which her character is believed to have moved to London following a falling out with the 'Fab Four'.
Following the sequel's release, one follower wrote on Twitter: 'And just like that… I find myself only wanting to watch anything @KimCattrall is in. This is a Kim appreciation tweet. [sic]' While Cattrall didn't comment on the post, she was seen to have 'liked' the comment.
Another fan wrote: 'Kim Cattrall didn't return to SATC because her scatting career is finally taking off.' The Golden Globe-winner 'liked' that post, too.
Cattrall's last Tweet in relation to SATC was when she expressed her condolences to the late actor Willie Garson, who played Bradshaw's longtime friend Stanford Blatch on the show, and passed away in September from pancreatic cancer.
Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family. Our condolences and RIP dear Willie xo pic.twitter.com/yXhPkxRTv3

As for what others have said about Cattrall's character in And Just Like That..., Nixon recent told us: 'We love this character, and we want to show great respect for her.'
We can't wait to see what's in store for Cattrall's new character Sophie in How I Met Your Father.
