Watch Jason Momoa Throw Hands During an Intense Boxing Workout

Jason Momoa might famously hate working out, but he still throws himself into the physically demanding process of getting ready to shoot a superhero movie. Part of his preparation for the upcoming DC sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom involves boxing training: in a recent video uploaded to Instagram, the actor showed off his hand-t0-hand fighting prowess with boxing coach Ian Streetz, and it's immediately pretty damn clear that he's retained some of his superhero skills from the first movie.

The impressive boxing video – which ends with Momoa delivering a mock K.O. to the person behind the camera – is the latest in a series of Instagram updates from the cast of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, all of whom are busy getting back into peak physical shape for what looks set to be an even more action-packed underwater adventure.

Yahya Abdul Mateen II shared a shirtless selfie which revealed his ripped physique and said that his Black Manta body was "back under construction," while Patrick Wilson, who plays Orm Marius, demonstrated the strength he's been building with five reps of a 420-pound deadlift, while Mera actress Amber Heard posted a video of herself rehearsing some elaborate fight choreography.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently slated for a release on December 16, 2022, and is reportedly based on a story idea that Momoa pitched to director James Wan while they were still making the first movie. In addition to Momoa, Mateen, Heard and Wilson, the cast will also include returning actors Willem Dafoe and Randall Park.
