Emily Blunt's pouring of a pint of Guinness is yet to past an official Irish seal of approval, according to Jamie Dornan.

In a joint appearance on The Graham Norton Show's New Year Eve Special (29 December), the Wild Mountain Thyme co-stars looked back on shooting a pub scene for their new film in which Blunt's pint-pulling skills became centre stage for onlookers and the crew.

Blunt explained to the TV host that she was asked to 'pour a pint of Guinness' and that she thought that the experience was going to be 'amazing and that she would crush it'.

The Mary Poppins Returns star continued by explaining that at first the room 'cheered' but as the pint began to 'turn into a pint of foam' the uproar quickly dissipated and even co-star Christopher Walken was unimpressed.

After the photo of the extra foamy beverage was revealed, the Fifty Shades of Grey actor, who hails from County Down, Northern Ireland, immediately exclaimed 'that is sacrilege!' confirming that that the actresses' attempts at pouring the infamous stout had come up short.

Dornan then gave a shout out to an Instagram account appropriately named Sh*t London Guinness, explaining that 'some legend, I think he's from Cork or something and basically people send him in these awful pints, notoriously awful Guinness here in London'.

He then elaborated on conditions of submissions to the page, 'It's like no head at all, loads of head, sometimes a pint of Guinness in a Heineken glass' before agreeing that Blunt's attempt would 'be straight on there'

Host Graham Norton (born and bred in Clondalkin, Ireland) was quick to the jump to the Golden Globe Winning Actress's defence by reasoning that there might have been 'Too much gas in the pipe perhaps,' To which Blunt quipped back: 'Too much gas in the pipe, Just like Jamie Dornan.'
