Framing Britney Spears spoilers won't be found here.
Framing Britney Spears, the latest instalment of The New York Times Presents series, is a heartbreaking but vital watch. While Britney herself isn't directly involved, an array of interviews and archive footage help contextualise her conservatorship and the #FreeBritney movement that surrounds it.
The ongoing battle for Britney's freedom has evolved a lot over the years, and although Samantha Stark's special doesn't tell the whole story, Framing Britney Spears asks vital questions about the legality of her circumstances, and misogyny in the media at large.
How to watch Framing Britney Spears in the US
As it did with Run and Happiest Season, Hulu picked up the rights to the The New York Times Presents series, which means that Framing Britney Spears is now available for US viewers to watch on the streaming service. Hulu is not available in the UK, or other countries outside of the US.
However, if you are in the US and aren't yet subscribed to Hulu, you can watch Framing Britney Spears for free with a one-month trial. Once the trial is over, Hulu costs $5.99 a month or $59.99 for a year's subscription. But watch out — your subscription will automatically be renewed after the trial is up.
If you're looking for the best experience, you can also pay $11.99 a month to get Hulu without ads. And if you would like some live TV channels thrown in too, it will cost $64.99 a month, or $70.99 a month without adverts.
Hulu is compatible with most devices, including the following: Android and iOS devices, Apple TV, Chromecast, Amazon Echo Show and Fire TV devices, select smart TVs and Android TVs, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Mac, PC and Roku streamers.
How to watch Framing Britney Spears in the UK
Unfortunately, UK viewers will have to wait a little while longer to watch Framing Britney Spears because so far, it is only available in the US on Hulu.
However, not all hope is lost just yet. PopSugar claims that Stark's documentary will air over here in Spring 2021.
More precise details remain scarce, although it's worth noting that Hulu and FX are now subsidiaries of The Walt Disney Company. This means that Framing Britney Spears could arrive soon on Disney+ for UK viewers, just like other Hulu shows such as Love Victor and Solar Opposites, which are coming to Disney+ when it launches its STAR strand on February 23.
We will update this page when we receive more info, but while we wait, check out what happened next after Framing Britney Spears premiered on February 5.
