From Harper's BAZAAR

The first in-depth look at Emma Stone's Cruella is here, and shows the metamorphosis Stone underwent to become the iconic 101 Dalmatians villain. The 90-second trailer depicts Cruella's spiral into revenge-driven madness during her youth, while also showcasing the myriad number of hairstyles (some black and white, some red) that Stone will have in the role, along with the lavish, bold costumes. "The thing is, I was born brilliant," Stone says toward the end of the trailer. "Born bad. And a little bit mad." And then you get to take in Stone's Cruella laugh.

Disney gave an official description for the film, providing further details on the characters joining Cruella in the story and their roles. The company wrote:

Cruella, which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (Howards End, Sense & Sensibility). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

Cruella is currently set for release in May 2021.
