Chris Hemsworth is one of the buffest working actors in Hollywood, perhaps second only to The Rock in his dedication to his workouts. And in the most recent workout video on his Instagram, it becomes clear that it runs in the family. To celebrate Father's Day (which takes place today in Australia), Hemsworth invited his dad Craig along for a workout.
"Just had a really fun training session with my dad, thought I was going to teach him a thing or two," he says in the video, "but it turns out the old dog has a couple of tricks up his sleeve."
The workout, taken from Hemsworth's fitness app Centr, consists of a number of exercises which are designed to be executed with a training partner:
12 x bicep curls
10 x press-up claps
10-meter farmer's carry
20 x medicine ball pass
10 x medicine ball front squat to throw
Hemsworth reflected on the role that fitness and sports have played in his relationship with his dad in the caption of the post, writing:
"Some of my greatest memories from when I was a kid are training with my dad. I used to compete in the 110m hurdles but didn’t have enough space to train as we lived on top of a very steep hill. My dad built me a single hurdle out of timber and I used the 15 meter driveway we had to practice over and over again. Just he and I till the sun went down havin' fun, havin' a laugh. I got 2 state medals with his help. Here we are 25 years on still laughing and still moving. Happy Father’s Day, champ."
