From the return of Love Island to the second ever series of Netflix's Too Hot To Handle, it well and truly is the summer of love. But what's the summer of love without huge amounts of cringing and non-stop awkward moments? As we know, these are crucial parts of any good reality dating show, and as ever, Too Hot To Handle does not disappoint. Which is why this particular moment - in which Cam and Emily watch his date with Christina together - is so very awkward.
To recap, the first instalment of episodes ended with two new contestants being brought onto the show: Christina Carmela and Robert Van Tromp. Both were asked to choose someone to go on a date with and Christina chose Cam, who was already coupled up with Emily. But, what Lana says goes, and Christina and Cam went on their date.
The date, which takes place with the other contestants peering at them from a balcony, gets pretty flirty and they even get close to sharing a kiss but instead stick to Lana's rules. Of course, what comes next is pure drama, with Cam and Emily falling out over the date and what really went down between him and Christina.
I imagine that the last thing they want is to relive the moment from a variety of camera angles and perspectives with commentary and lots of close up shots... But Netflix may already have taken care of that part.
As part of our Too Hot To Handle watchalong series Cam and Emily viewed a number of clips of their time on the show, including his date with Christina, and the whole thing was pretty uncomfortable, to say the least.
"First I heard of their date it was Cam telling me one thing, when actually it was a complete lie," Emily said, adding, "it was not a good time for me."
"I didn't play the situation the best to be honest," Cam admits. "... I kind of laid it on a bit thick on the date... and I did lie about it when I came back, so didn't play it the best but it was a learning curve for me."
Every day is a school day, right?
