For long-time CrossFit enthusiasts – and frankly, anyone eager to watch the fittest people in the world push themselves far beyond their physical and mental limits – the 2021 CrossFit Games is set to be a must-see sporting event this year.
Taking place from July 27 to August 1, this years' CrossFit Games will see top-tier athletes go head-to-head against their peers across a series of diverse events to bag the prestigious title of Fittest on Earth.
To qualify for the 2021 CrossFit Games, the fitness elite tested their mettle across three gruelling phases – the Open, the Quarterfinals, and the Semifinals – and now, only the upper echelon remain. More than 600 athletes will compete in the tournament, including 80 men and women as individuals, 80 masters and teenage athletes, and 38 global teams.

In addition, 2020 runner-up Samuel Kwant didn't qualify this year due to a breathing issue following a hives outbreak, so the podium is guaranteed to look totally different. (continued below)
Meanwhile, in the women's division, four-time reigning champion Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr will be defending her title against 2020 finalists Katrin Davíðsdóttir, Kari Pearce, Haley Adams, Brooke Wells, and 2012's Fittest Woman on Earth Annie Thorisdottir. All in all, it's shaping up to be a compelling Games.
