Yep, it's official, Cosmopolitan UK is taking part in the government's Kickstart scheme and we've got three v exciting vacancies across three v exciting departments – Features, Fashion and Beauty. The Kickstart Scheme is open to anyone aged 16-24 currently claiming Universal Credit and helps those at risk of long-term unemployment take the next (or first) step on the career ladder. We're offering the opportunity to join our award winning writers and editors as part of Team Cosmopolitan UK for six months. The vacancies we're looking to fill are Content Trainee, Fashion Trainee and Beauty Trainee, and all of the roles are paid hourly at the national minimum wage.
Not only are the positions paid, but you'll also be boosting your future job prospects by learning valuable skills and gaining work experience that you can add to your CV. The roles are part-time, at 25 hours per week, and will be made up of two days working at our House of Hearst office in London's Leicester Square and the rest from home.
Content Trainee
Did you know that 'ghosting' was a thing before everyone was talking about it? Are you the person all your friends go to for dating advice? If so, we want to hear from you! We're looking for someone who is passionate about telling real life stories and interested in how relationships and friendships impact your day-to-day life.
In this role, you'll be working alongside the Features Director and Sex and Relationships Editor, writing copy for all platforms and researching and interviewing experts. You'll also see how ideas are pitched, developed, written and edited and get the opportunity to help with this process, as well as learning about e-commerce content and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
This role sits within the Features team but will focus predominantly on Sex and Relationships content. As such, applicants for this position must be over 18.

Fashion Trainee
If you've got a keen eye for fashion trends and can tell the difference between a bodycon and a babydoll, then a position on our Fashion team could be the one for you. In this role, you'll work closely with Cosmopolitan UK's Fashion Director, Fashion Editor and Shopping Editor as you help organise and maintain the fashion cupboard, assist on photoshoots and write up fashion copy for the website.
Whether you're a budding fashion writer or stylist, we only ask that you bring your enthusiasm to work with you.

Beauty Trainee
As our Beauty Trainee, you'll find yourself immersed in all-things-beauty – whether that's the latest beauty trends on TikTok or the celebrity hair transformation taking over your timeline.
As well as pitching and researching beauty content for the website, attending virtual and in-person beauty events and overseeing the organisation of the Cosmo beauty cupboard, you'll get to pick the brains of our Beauty Director and Deputy Beauty Editor, and have the opportunity to have your work published on the Cosmopolitan UK website.
