When it comes to hair I'll be the first to admit that I don't really have a clue what I'm doing, so thank god for celebrity hairstylists like Jen Atkin who share their tips on the Internet.

Jen's client list includes the Kardashian/Jenners, Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid and pretty much every other celeb on your Instagram feed.

Most recently Jen did both Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner's hair for the Met Gala and thankfully Hailey vlogged the experience on her YouTube channel.

Much like a wedding, Hailey had a trial of her Met Ball hair and makeup to ensure everything went smoothly on the night.

If, like us, you were obsessed with her ultimate cool girl waves, Jen shared her number one tip for achieving them. While also joking about a previous Met Ball style that left Hailey with a bald patch.

Beauty is pain and all that.

While Hailey was filming herself in the mirror (hey, when you're feeling yourself, you're feeling yourself), Jen asked if she could give Hailey an "exclusive tip" for her YouTube channel.

"So to all you hairdressers out there, don't spray the pieces of hair around the face with hairspray. Spray your hands with hairspray and then just go in and rub the front pieces with your fingers."

I'll be the first to admit that my crispy strands are forever grateful for this information.

If you see me gently rubbing my hair, now you know why.
