If you're looking to get away from it all, you probably can't do better than Bouvet Island, the most remote island in the world.

That said, there are a number of reasons why very few people ever set foot on it.

The island is located in the South Atlantic Ocean, but actually belongs to Norway, and has some challenging natural weather conditions.
