Winners and losers

Stocks in the red include Tesla as the NTSB will examine an accident in California that resulted in post-crash vehicle fire; Nvidia, as Reuters reports the chipmaker has temporarily suspended self-driving car tests across the globe; and Twitter, with shares slipping as short-seller Citron Research said it sees Twitter as the ‘most vulnerable to privacy regulation.’

Stocks in the green include GlaxoSmithKline as the drugmaker has reached a deal to buy out Novartis’ stake in their consumer health care joint venture; Red Hat as the software provider’s quarterly report beat on both the top and bottom lines and it offered upbeat guidance; and GE, with shares finally getting a boost on a Bloomberg report that Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway is considering an investment in the troubled conglomerate.
