Wait… Have We Been Cutting Pitta Bread Wrong This Whole Time?

The internet is a wonderful place – especially TikTok. It’s always there; ready to tell you what a horrible job you’ve been doing of your life so far.

Cheers, mate…

Last week, TikTok was kind enough to let us know that we’ve been using ketchup sachets wrong this whole time, and today it’s telling us how we’ve been messing up pitta breads. FFS.

Recently, @sevda.ela shared a video of her making a super-tasty falafel, hummus and salad pitta bread. And the way she cut her pitta bread shocked fellow TikTok user, @boitoynamedtroyy, so much, that he had to share a reaction video, and find out if he’s the only one that’s never cut a pitta bread how she does it.

So, the way @sevda.ela cuts her pitta bread is by making a slit about 1cm in along the long side of it, before pulling it apart to make a perfect pocket to fill with lots of tasty bits and bobs.

This shocked @boitoynamedtroyy to his very core because he says if he did it like that, he’d scold his hands off.

And it turns out that a lot of people have different ways of cutting their pitta breads. Comments on his post include, “I cut it in half like short ways, so it makes two separate pockets.... I thought that's how everyone did it,” and “I just rip it."

When asked how he does it, @boitoynamedtroyy commented: “I cut it like you would a bagel? I thought everyone did it.” Which, we’re guessing means he cuts it totally in half lengthways?

So, have you learnt a new way of cutting your pitta bread, or have you been doing it like this for years?
