The Voice's Tom Fletcher opens up on regret after Danny Jones wins I'm A Celeb

McFly star Tom Fletcher has shared his admiration for Danny Jones on his I'm A Celeb win but also confessed he's "letting the side down".

The 39-year-old appeared as a guest on The One Show alongside actress Kerry Washington and director Tyler Perry. Talking to presenters Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne about his new book, the hosts couldn't help but mention Tom's bandmate's recent victory.

Last week, Danny was crowned the new King of the Jungle on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! When discussing the win, Tom also mentioned his other band members who have won reality shows.

He said, "Well, we have two in the band; Dougie was King of the Jungle as well, and Harry was the king of the dance floor." Sharing his regret, Tom said that he was the only one "letting the side down."

As Lauren mentioned his wife Giovanna, who won I'm A Celeb in 2020, Tom added: "And my wife won as well yes, I'm literally the only one who hasn't won a reality show. Thanks for reminding me."

When asked if he would ever consider doing it himself, he replied: "Well, I can't now, there would just be the most immense pressure on me to try and win it.

"But to be honest, I love it when my friends are on the shows because it's the highlight of my year. Sitting back and watching Danny was absolutely brilliant, it was the highlight of our year and he did so well. It was brilliant watching him on."

After he was crowned the winner on last week's final of I'm A Celeb, Danny was overwhelmed with emotion.

He called his campmates "unbelievable" because "they made it so easy for us to get through the hard times."

The singer also shared that he found the show tough but also worth it and added: "I've had some of the hardest times I've ever had and some of the highest of highs."

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I gave my all in there, gave myself, and it's a lovely feeling to be liked," he shared.

The One Show airs Mondays-Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
