In case you hadn’t realised (and have been living under a rock for the last month), it’s the Royal Wedding anniversary this Sunday, celebrating the first year of Wills and Kate being married. Aaaah, and doesn’t it feel like it was only yesterday you were cooing over the TV and possibly even welling up a bit? But more to the point, in preparation for their first anniversary we took a quick trip down to see Kate’s hair stylist James Pryce at his very chic new residence, the Josh Wood Atelier.
James was the genius responsible for not only Princess Catherine’s amazing locks on her wedding day but also throughout her Canada tour with Wills during which she had emaculately blowdried tresses that we can only dream of. In fact, anytime you see Kate swishing her silky locks out and about in public, James is the man to thank. Not surprising really, just one glimpse at his impressive CV and you can see why – he started his scissor life at Daniel Galvin, then moved onto Trevor Sorbie and he’s spent the last 6 years at Richard Ward. Wowza! And most exciting of all he has just joined the Atelier, full of other creative and highly sought-after hairy types such as Josh, George Northwood and Bantika Elsley. So how do you get hair looking as good as Kate’s you ask? “It’s all about the foundation of the haircut,” says Pryce. “Getting a good precision cut is paramount. Once you have a good shape you can then texturise the hair, so it’s essential”. Well, now that we know Kate’s secret we’re think we might be hooked. And why don’t you get in on the action too? There’s a Jubilee coming up after all and surely you’ll want tip top Kate-esque locks for that peeps?
