Viola Davis looks sensational in dramatic pink gown at the Met Gala
Viola Davis looked beautiful in a pink statement gown at the Met Gala on Monday, 1 May.
Attending the iconic ceremony, Viola opted for a stunning, show-stopping gown in a bold shade of pink. Her statement look, which was a custom gown by Valentino, consisted of a range of incredible details. At an event where most opted for monochrome looks (mostly in hues of black, grey and white) the 57-year-old actress chose a fuchsia pink — and it wasn't just the colour of her gown which made for a beautiful look. Around the strapless neckline, her gown was adorned with dramatic feathers — making for a look that combined theatre and Hollywood glamour in a perfect way.
What's more, Viola matched her gown with a stunning hair and beauty look. The star wore her hair in a gorgeous Afro style and opted for makeup that matched her dress — consisting of pink eyeshadow, a pop of pink blush and a pink/nude lip. To accessorise, the star opted for silver statement earrings.
At the Met Gala, Viola was joined by her husband of almost 20 years, actor and producer Julius Tennon. In some sweet moments, the two were seen placing their arms around each other as they walked the red carpet at the iconic event.
The theme for the Met Gala 2023 was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the gala aimed to honour Lagerfeld, who died in 2019 and was Chanel's long-time creative director.
