The ladies of The View have a message for conservative news outlets and politicians targeting Taylor Swift: You need to calm down.
Tuesday’s episode began with a discussion about Fox News’ apparent crusade against the pop star, which included clips of people like Jeanine Pirro, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham alleging that Swift’s liberal political influence over younger voters heading into the 2024 presidential election is not only misguided but dangerous.

One Fox News host, Charly Arnolt, even said that she started rooting against the Kansas City Chiefs — on which Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce is a tight end — because she has “had enough of Taylor Swift for now.” She then encouraged the singer’s fans not to believe everything that she says.
Those on The View panel feel quite differently about Swift’s political influence, with Alyssa Farah Griffin saying, “I cannot think of a dumber political fight to pick than with the Swifties. We are a force of nature.” She added that Swift “hasn’t been quiet about her politics” in the past, and it has never bothered her, even when their ideologies didn’t line up.
Whoopi Goldberg went so far as to tell conservatives: “You’re creating conspiracy theories about a pop star because you can’t win an election,” asking them, “What are you doing for younger voters? … Y’all are making so much stink about Taylor Swift because you can’t win an election.”
Sunny Hostin reminded the audience that a single Instagram post from Swift once led to 35,000 new voter registrations in states like Florida and Texas, with Sarah Haines adding that we should, in theory, want as many active voters as possible.
