It seems like a lifetime ago that Victoria Beckham was known simply as Posh. Now a revered designer at the helm of British Fashion Award-winning brand (just in case you still considered her collection a ‘celeb’ line), Beckham couldn’t be further removed from her previous life as one fifth of the world’s most adored girl band.

But the latest addition to her burgeoning Victoria Beckham Beauty line makes a nostalgic nod to that Nineties past. Beckham’s collection of Posh lipsticks, launching today, is an ode to the Spice Girl’s signature pale-nude lip.

The nine-strong collection is designed to offer the perfect nude – whether that, for you, means the palest baby-pink or a rich, chocolatey brown. There’s one odd one out, too: the perfect postbox red that’s neither too blue or too orange in undertone, meaning it pops on every skin tone (and suitably, it's named Posh Pop).

The formula’s focus, unlike many modern lip launches, is nourishment and comfort – no drying mattes or tricky liquids to be found here. The sleek bullet is small enough to be swiped straight on without colouring outside the lines, while the avocado and coconut oils hydrate and add shine that doesn’t slip onto your teeth. The result is a softer and creamier feel than most lipsticks, but at no cost to the pigment: a single swipe is bold enough.

So, back to that Spice Girl reference. Each of the lipsticks is playfully named in honour of the Nineties' most polished pop star: there’s Posh Pose, Posh Pout and, of course Posh Spice.

"All of the Spice Girls really stood for being your most authentic self and celebrating the differences among us," says Beckham. "Today, Posh is about having that same confidence. It’s about being true to yourself, but also not taking yourself too seriously."
