Victoria Beckham demonstrated the power of pastels at our Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards tonight in a pair of light-yellow tailored trousers and a ruffled silk shirt from her spring/summer 2018 collection.
The designer made a case for pastels in her latest collection, showing yellows, lilacs, blues and peach hues, so it was hardly a surprise that she was keen to try the trend out on the red carpet.
"This collection is about the many powers of femininity," she said backstage after her show. "These are play-doh colours; ice-cream colours. Fresh and summery but not too sweet. There is something strange about them, together, that feels really fresh and cool and interesting."
The designer added a sharp black blazer to her look as she joined guests inside the event. Sharp tailoring has become a signature look for Beckham and now she's proving it can be done in all colours of the rainbow.
