Vicky McClure has shared a teaser trailer for her upcoming ITV drama Trigger Point – and it looks epic.

Line of Duty's Vicky is transitioning from anti-corruption's AC-12 to Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad in the six-part thriller, produced by Jed Mercurio’s HTM Television.

The actress plays bomb disposal operative and front line officer Lana Washington opposite Undercover's Adrian Lester's Nutkins, her colleague and fellow bomb disposal operative. Both are ex-military and very close, having previously served in Afghanistan together.

When a terrorist campaign threatens the capital over the summer, the operatives are at the forefront of urgent efforts to find out who is behind the bombings before fatalities escalate…..

Trigger Point on ITV: Latest updates

Vicky has posted a teaser trailer of the thriller on Instagram, and added the caption: 'Anyone catch it?!? Here's ya first look at #TriggerPoint #countdownison
@itv @htmtelevision.'

Line of Duty co-star Martin Compston commented: 'Looks epic mate.'

We couldn't agree more. In the clip we see Vicky's bomb disposal operative Lana Washington in the aftermath of an explosion and announcing: 'My gut tells me we're dealing with sophisticated bombers who knows how to move, who knows how to behave a like a firearms officer...'

It would seem that – similar to the premise of Line of Duty – they're dealing with a corrupt officer within their ranks who is a part of an organised terrorist act.

The series will be arriving early next year.

Meanwhile, Vicky also shared a photo of herself in her bomb disposal squad costume, and added the caption: 'It's late, in car heading home to Notts. Started Trigger Point back in May in London, a huge gig in front of me, 6 explosive episodes and now I’m wrapped!! Surreal feeling.'

She continued: 'Pretty exhausted… There was a fair bit of running but my heart is full of love for the crew & cast I've just spent the last 5 months with. When ya see it on the telly, take a look at the credits… Everyone grafted so hard and brought their immense talents every day!! Beyond grateful to you ALL!!!'
