Vicky McClure posted a thank you video in her pyjamas from home after Line of Duty’s National Television Awards win last night (9 September).

In the clip on her Instagram page, the star said she was “gutted” she couldn’t be at the event in person, saying, “I’m having my moment now to say thank you because I wasn’t there” and joked it was “sadly not a glamorous NTA moment here,” referring to her dressing gown attire.

Line of Duty won the Special Recognition Award after being receiving four nominations; in Best Returning Drama category and for Vicky herself, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar in the Best Acting category. The Best Acting award went to David Tennant for his performance in Des.

Vicky said she felt, “so blessed and so grateful for everyone who voted for the show and everyone who voted for us all in the acting category.” She said it was “so beautiful” to know people were voting for the team and added, “David Tennent is an absolute legend so I’m so chuffed for him.”

She also revealed that watching the video montage from the awards made her “quite emotional.”

“It’s been a long time and we’ve been through a lot together,” she said. “Don’t know what else to say because I’m so tired, can you tell?”

The star ended her video by sending “massive love” and adding, “see you all soon…and here’s hoping we’ll be back.”
