Venus Williams let slip the sex of Serena's baby
Ah, big sisters. What are they for, if not to ruin your life by revealing all of your secrets?
Unfortunately, Venus Williams has let a big one slip, and not just to her auntie at a family party, either. She appears to have revealed the sex of sister Serena’s unborn child to the press, and now everyone knows that Serena is expecting a baby girl. Oops.
In a post-match interview at the French Open, where Venus is competing, Venus accidentally slipped in the word “she” when talking about being an aunt. The overexcited aunti-to-be was asked whether her sister has any names picked out, to which she replied:
"She's going to call me the favorite aunt.
Of course we're all like baby V, baby Lyn, baby Esher, we all want the baby to be named after us."
Serena has not yet spoken about the sex of her baby, but she has been sharing plenty of pictures of her growing bump, and is clearly excited to be welcoming her first child.
In April, Serena admitted that she announced her pregnancy over Snapchat by accident when she uploaded a picture of her bump and captioned it “20 weeks”. It had been meant for personal use, and was deleted shortly afterwards - but of course, the internet misses nothing.
Serena is expecting the daughter with Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit. The pair have been dating for almost two years, and became engaged last December.
