The unique gifts King Charles III will give the public for Christmas

December is *just* around the corner, and that means it's time to get your Christmas shopping underway and decorate your house – if you haven't already, of course. And it seems this year, King Charles III wants to give the public a helping hand when it comes to Christmas decorations as he'll be gifting Christmas trees up and down the country.

This year marks the first time that King Charles III will celebrate Christmas as monarch, taking over from Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September. As sovereign, it's now his duty to continue the traditions that have been performed for many years... and that's where the Christmas trees come in.

Each and ever year throughout her reign, the Queen gifted a number of Christmas trees from her Windsor Crown Estate. It was a tradition that began in 1937 by Her Majesty's father, King George VI – and now, King Charles III is in charge of keeping the baton moving.

As well as donating money to several charities in Windsor each Christmas, King Charles III is set to gift Christmas trees to Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, St. Giles' Cathedral and the Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. Churches and schools in the Sandringham area should also receive a tree from His Majesty, as they did during Queen Elizabeth II's reign.

It's likely that Charles will also pick up another tradition that Her Majesty carried on from her father – the giving of Christmas puddings to Palace staff. Tasty!

Roll on the festive season, eh!?
