Under Armour dropped its first-of-its kind performance sportsmask in the UK earlier this month to a lot of hype - and it immediately sold out.

The (£26) facemask went on sale at midnight on July 14 and was snapped up within hours, but the good news is that the brand will be restocking the mask online every two weeks, meaning the next drop could be in the next few days.

The exercise-friendly mask has been specifically designed with athletes in mind, with comfort and breathability at its core.

While the government has confirmed that masks will not be mandatory at gyms and leisure centres when they reopen on July 25, the sportsmask is an ideal accessory for anyone wanting to take extra precautions while training or running. And, quite frankly, the slick design means you'd probably end up using it doing everyday tasks such as popping to the supermarket.

The best way to ensure you don't miss out again is by signing up here to be notified of the next restock.

The mask is water-resistant and designed for maximum breathability to reduce the spread of respiratory droplets by the user.

To help with preventing glasses fogging, the top of the mask features a moldable nose-bridge to limit airflow to the eyes and help keep it in place.

It features a triple-layer model engineered for athletes during performance. The first layer is made of spacer fabric, which is light but has air pockets for structure, so it stays off the mouth and nose for better airflow; the breathable middle layer is made of open-cell foam which is designed to let air through but makes it hard for moisture and sweat to pass; meanwhile the third layer of fabric feels cool against the skin, stretches, and is treated with PROTX2, a non-metal anti-microbial technology which inhibits growth of bacteria on the mask.

The mask also has stretchy ear loops and side panels for a more comfortable fit across four size offerings: SM/MD, MD/LG, LG/XL, XL/XXL.

It's eco-friendly too, as it's reusable and can be washed and dried.

Under Armour decided to create the mask after it started manufacturing face masks and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) in March to help prevent the spread of the virus.

"As soon as we finalised the design of our face mask for PPE, we dove straight into the innovation process of optimising a mask for performance," said Kyle Blakely, VP of Materials Innovation at Under Armour. "We knew our athletes would need us to come through quickly with a solve to aid their return to training, one that would put health and safety first and adhere to current guidelines.

"Experience told us that fabric and performance had to be our first focus, so we set out to find a fabric combination that created structure to ensure the mask would stand off the face and offer maximum breathability," added Blakely. "We applied learnings in fit, feel, and ease and speed of manufacturing from the face mask we created for PPE purposes. Throughout it all, the speed of the design process and a meticulous eye to quality and details were paramount."

More colours of the mask are expected to follow in the summer and autumn.
