With more Brits choosing to take their summer break in the UK this year, finding somewhere to visit that's away from swathes of holidaymakers can feel near on impossible.

We've heard about the gorgeous coastlines of Cornwall, the breathtaking walks of Devon and the quaint honey-hued villages of the Cotswolds, but with families flocking to these destinations, the reality of a break here might be a little different.

And particularly with social distancing guidelines still in place, holidaying somewhere we feel safe is a big consideration.

Luckily, Pound Toy has done the hard work for us, delving into a plethora of UK hotspots — and totting up the figures — to determine which ones are the least crowded right now.

So, if you're keen on a more secluded staycation this year then it's time to start Googling all that Northumberland National Park has to offer.

Northumberland National Park is the northernmost national park in England and covers an area of more than 1,050 square kilometres between the Scottish border in the north to just south of Hadrian's Wall.

It is known for being one of the least populated and least visited of the National Parks, a fact we find mind-boggling given just how beautiful the landscape is.

Also in the top three are the Isle of Arran — off the coast of Scotland — and Exmoor — a large beautiful and peaceful area of wild countryside in the South West of England.

The Isle of Arran is the largest island in the Firth of Clyde and the seventh largest Scottish island, at 432 square kilometres, while two thirds of Exmoor National Park sits in the County of Somerset and the other third in Devon.
