UK Police Move In as Hundreds Gather for Illegal Rave in Norfolk

Police broke up an illegal rave in a forest in Norfolk on August 30, after more than 500 people attended.

Police released aerial footage after more than 500 people attended a forest rave in Norfolk, UK, on “August 29-30.”:

Norfolk Police said 100 officers were deployed to break up the event, which began late on August 29 in Thetford.

They released aerial footage of the rave, showing dense crowds of people before a stage. Video from the ground shows officers arriving, with one of them attacked.

Police said that five people were arrested and each issued with a £100 fine. Audio equipment, generators, a rig and a lorry, were seized.

“We understand the disruption such events cause to local communities and the concern people will have, particularly as coronavirus continues to be a real threat," Assistant Chief Constable Nick Davison said. “This was a well-established and planned event and we needed additional specialist resources to shut it down safely.
