Thousands of travellers face a scramble to get home before the 14-day self-isolation rule comes into force at 4am on Saturday, with flights already selling out.
It comes as the number of people who have died in the UK rose by 16. The number of daily cases saw the highest rise since mid-June.
Meanwhile, the Government confirmed it will compensate those who have to self isolate with payments of up to £182 if they are on Universal Credit or Working Tax Credit, required to self-isolate and unable to work from home, or those in areas with high incidences of Covid-19.
