Last night saw the 10 remaining contestants tackle bread week on episode three of The Great British Bake Off. The bakers had a lot to prove (see what we did there?) and had to make Italian focaccia for the first challenge, olive ciabatta bread sticks for the technical and intricate designs in milk bread for the showstopper.

So much happened in the third episode of GBBO, and we're still trying to unpack everything, because it's a lot. From the first Hollywood Handshake, to fans shouting at the TV telling Jürgen to change his technical, bread week was very eventful.

Paul Hollywood give his first handshake to Giuseppe

During the first round, the bakers had to bake their signature Italian focaccia recipes, and it was no surprise that Giuseppe stole the show. The Italian-born baker even received the very first Hollywood Handshake from Paul, and fans were overjoyed.

Fans were not impressed by Jürgen's kippers and boiled egg

With a warm personality and impressive baking skills, Jürgen has been a firm fan favourite since the first episode. But fans were screaming at the TV last night when he made some... questionable baking choices.

The first two weeks of the competition saw him crowned as star baker, but last night was a very different story after his focaccia was served with with kippers and a boiled egg.

When Maggie answered Paul back

Although Paul gave his first handshake of the series, he also gave some harsh critique too. Fans weren't impressed when Maggie received some criticism, but soon rejoiced when she answered Paul back.

Jürgen's bread baby... yes, really

As you can probably tell, like everyone on social media, we also love Jürgen quite a bit. But what we also love is the double act that he is in *could be in* with Giuseppe.
