Even though Friends finished a full 17 years ago we're somehow still noticing things about it we never spotted at the time. From the Rachel Green continuity error people can't un-see, to the fact that Matthew Perry's real-life dad had a cameo in an episode during season four. Well, we've just realised something else. Jennifer Grey, who plays Baby Houseman in Dirty Dancing also has a pretty major role in series one of Friends.

She appears in season one episode 20, The One With the Evil Orthodontist, where she plays the role of Rachel's former best friend Mindy. In the episode Rachel starts dating ex-fiancé Barry again, despite the fact he is engaged to her one-time best friend Mindy. But eventually decides to break up with Barry, although when she goes to speak to him they end up having sex in his orthodontist chair (not very hygienic).

Later, ex-best friend Mindy calls Rachel to ask her to be the Maid of Honour at her wedding to Barry, and also confides in her that she thinks he is having an affair. Eventually, Rachel comes clean to Mindy, who reveals that she and Barry were dating when he was engaged to Rachel and the pair go to confront Barry. Well, it turns out that Mindy is none other than Jennifer Grey, Aka Baby from Dirty Dancing!

Mindy's character is referenced several times throughout the series but she only appears one more time in an episode during season 2 where she and Barry finally get married. Although, Grey was reportedly unavailable to play Mindy in season two and the role was played by Jana Marie Hupp.

Recently show creators revealed that Matthew Perry went to very extreme lengths to get Julia Roberts to appear in an episode of Friends, and reportedly it led to them dating for quite some time.
