You will need…

  • A sourdough roll, large

  • Turkey breast, 150g, sliced

  • Crispy bacon rashers, 3

  • A red onion, sliced

  • Handful of lambs' lettuce

  • Applewood smoked cheese, 2 slices

For the mayo:

  • Light mayo, 2tbsp

  • Chipotle powder, 1/2tsp

  • Garlic clove, ½, crushed

  • Paprika, ¼tsp

  • A squeeze of lime


Not only does sourdough ease digestion, it also stabilises your blood sugar response and keeps you full for longer. Cut your roll in half and then toast. While you wait, rip up your turkey and place it on a microwaveable plate, with the bacon rashers on top. Clingfilm the plate, before blitzing it in the microwave for 90 seconds.


With the sourdough toasted, layer the lamb's lettuce, sliced red onion and cheese on one half of your bread. Take your meats out of the microwave, ready to finish assembling your sub.


Here comes the protein. Place your turkey on top of the cheese and crown with the bacon. Now add a good helping of chipotle mayo (right) and crunch down the other half of your sourdough to put a lid on your sub. Now tuck in for the ultimate post-gym feast.
