Meghan Markle is fast becoming our ultimate beauty icon. Take the Common Wealth Day Service, where she surprised everyone with a flash of electric blue eyeshadow. Or The Endeavour Fund Awards, when she set off her turquoise Victoria Beckham dress with a rebellious berry red lip.
Have you considered some holographic face glitter, Megs? A touch of nail art, perhaps?
A girl can dream.
Most off all, there’s something about Meghan’s dewy complexion that takes my actual breath away. Is it those perfectly-placed cheek highlights? The delicate spattering of freckles across her nose? Or perhaps it’s just down to the flush of love you get when you’re married to a prince?
I wouldn’t know *sniff*
Either way, I want in on the healthy-looking skin, asap. And who's going to help me? Meghan’s friend and go-to make-up man Daniel Martin, that’s who.
Daniel did her wedding make-up, natch, and has talked openly about how he wanted Harry to see her on the big day. He’s the first to admit Meghan has naturally “incredible” skin, but it turns out there are a few extra tricks we could all do with learning to get her lively looking skin (as he so cutely puts it).
When it comes to applying your base, Daniel told Grazia:
‘Use your hands. If you do your make-up your hands, you’ll notice there’s a glow, a radiance, a liveliness to the skin that you don’t get using the tools.’
He also recommends mixing your moisturiser (he loves the Augustinus Bader The Cream, £205) with concealer to keep things looking natural: “So if you can break that down a notch to get that skin coming through, you can do that with either an oil or a moisturizer. But get your hands involved – you’ll definitely see a difference!’
Very handy advice, Daniel.
