Trump compares cops shooting civilians in the back to golfers who 'choke and miss three-foot putts'
US president Donald Trump compared police officers using excessive force to golfers who "choke" and miss an easy putt.
Trump made the comparison while appearing on Fox News the night before he was set to visit Kenosha, Wisconsin, in the aftermath of the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
In an interview with the host Laura Ingraham, he said of police officers: "They choke. Just like in a golf tournament, they miss a 3-foot putt."
The comment sparked a furious reaction on social media.
