The drama surrounding the Charli and Dixie D'Amelio has been getting messier and messier, with other influencers now getting involved and other arguments kicking off between them. The latest feud to erupt from the situation is between YouTuber Trisha Paytas and beauty influencer James Charles, who stepped in to defend the TikTok sisters on Twitter.

It all began with a video from the sisters' new YouTube series, Dinner With the D'Amelios, in which Charli, Dixie and James Charles all chatted over dinner together. The video was met with backlash with fans calling out the sisters for complaining about the food made by their personal chef, along with comments made by Charli over her follower count. Both sisters have addressed the mounting criticism, and the family chef has also released a statement on the issue.

Following the backlash, dinner guest James Charles took to Twitter to defend the TikTok stars, telling followers:

"This charli situation is NOT sitting right with me... 100M followers in one year & y'all expect her to know how to be a perfect role model? death threats because she's a picky eater & made a joke about a milestone? 30+ year olds dragging someone half their age? feels familiar."

Quickly, fellow YouTuber Trisha Paytas waded in with her opinion on the issue, responding to James Charles' tweet saying:

"Imagine always being the victim in every situation,James how do u do it ? How r u so perfect ? I know it’s easy to deflect to me now. But imagine being JAMES CHARLES-More hated than even Trisha Paytas whew, what a feat. ps stop stealing small creators art, clothing, mu looks etc."

While Charles didn't respond immediately to her defamatory allegations, Paytas continued with a string of comments surrounding the situation before eventually tweeting that she thinks Charles should be cancelled.

"Definitely have always said no one deserves to be cancelled. Everyone has room for growth/positive influence. Except James Charles. Please cancel him. He a forever victim with a superiority conflict, has never said sorry his whole life/hangs out with an underage girl regularly"

Following her comments Charles released a TikTok denying Paytas's suggestion about his relationship with Charli D'Amelio and also calling out Paytas for previous comments she has made on social media.

"I didn't want to respond to this because I didn't want to give Trisha the attention that she's clearly craving," he told viewers. "However, I have now been accused of being a child groomer and this is not an accusation that I'm going to take lightly," Charles said. "To insinuate that the relationship between Charli and I is anything other than just a friendship is absolutely disgusting."

Shortly after posting on TikTok, Charles stopped responding to tweets or comments about the issue, instead tweeting that he hopes "everyone's having an amazing thursday," and alerting fans that he would be posting a new video soon. Paytas continued to tweet about Charles and respond to others' tweets about her getting cancelled before stopping responding a few hours later.
