I Tried Halsey's New About-Face Liquid Lipstick, and the Pigment Packs a Punch

Macy Cate Williams

As a shopping editor, I test a lot of lipstick - by now, probably hundreds of formulas. So, when I find something I truly love, you're going to hear about it. Enter About-Face Paint-It Matte Lip Color ($22), my new number-one favorite. I have always loved Halsey - she often does her own makeup and this brand is clearly her creative vision. Have you seen her tutorials? They're so mesmerizing. I was fully prepared to give this lipstick an honest and candid test.

Overall, this is one of my most favorite celebrity-founded beauty brands to be released in recent years.

The formula is so light and flexible, you can't even feel it on your mouth. And that pigment? Wow, the color payoff is impressive for such a weightless consistency. I also appreciate the touch of peppermint oil that keeps my lips moisturized. I wore this with my face mask over it for about 30 minutes, and the lipstick didn't smudge or fade. Clearly it's a winner. I'm wearing the color Take Aim in the photo above, but I am equally as obsessed with the shades Slumber and So Long Summer.

Overall, this is one of my most favorite celebrity-founded beauty brands to be released in recent years. The quality is great, the package designs are cool, and the prices are fair. I'm a big fan of the highlighter and liquid eyeshadows as well (which I'm also wearing in this picture!).

Keep reading to get more details on this matte lip color and treat yourself to a tube. I promise you'll be obsessed, because I shamelessly am.
