We tried out this new beauty tool for radiant skin — and we're very impressed
Our quest for radiant skin is an ongoing on, and over the years we've tried out all sorts of lotions, potions and gadgets to try and help us look our best. Some have been successful, some less so, and some have even had an adverse effect (we won't give those airtime here, but they're usually off the back of some social media trend).
However, when we stumbled across the HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion tool, we could see from the reviews that we were onto a winner.
'Easy to use, fast acting and dramatic results,' gushed one glowing shopper, while another added: 'I love this product. It’s a great product to have at home and whilst on holidays to keep your skin looking smooth and fresh.'
We were sold, and could barely contain ourselves from ripping open the packaging on our doorstep when it arrived.
It needed no set-up or charge time at all (a big bonus if you're impatient and keen for glowing skin ASAP), and the instructions were straight forward: simply set the level to either one, two, three or four depending on what part of your face you're covering, and you're good to go.
But, before we share the results, here's exactly what the HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion tool is and what it does.
It's a salon-grade treatment to transform your skincare regime and improve overall skin texture from the comfort of your own home. The handheld device delivers a powerful exfoliation, buffing away the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, firmer feeling surface, with visible results in as little as three weeks.
It stimulates cellular renewal to promote a more even and refined complexion, and only takes five minutes a few times a week. The device claims that 'skin will appear rejuvenated and replenished, with visibly diminished wrinkles, blackheads and scarring for an overall healthier and younger looking visage'.
And the results?
Our skin felt smoother after just one use and we could see from the filter just how much dead skin and other impurities it had removed. In fact, we couldn't stop stroking our face after the first use, which we don't recommend as you're obviously transferring dirt and oils from your hands to your fresh skin, but it's very hard to resist.
It's surprisingly gentle on our sensitive skin and leaves it looking plumper and feeling more hydrated after each use — ideal for when winter rolls around and we're desperate for some extra moisture.
Plus, when it came to putting on our skincare, it absorbed much more easily, and our foundation sat perfectly on top, helping to achieve an overall more flawless finish.
Over time, the tool promises to smooth out skin and reduce wrinkles, but you'll notice the difference almost immediately, and we're not the only ones who love it. Some of the other reviews left for the product are equally as positive:

We wouldn't recommend using the tool just before you go out though, as it does leave your face red for about 20-30 minutes after. We'd suggest using it upon wakeup, going to make a coffee and then returning to put on your skincare and makeup.
