Wearing retro adidas sneakers is not a new trend, per say. In fact, each year there seems to be a new style that takes to the streets. Last year, it was the adidas Samba, a classic low top with the iconic three stripes. While those days are certainly not behind us, there’s a new kid on the block this year.

Say goodbye to white Nikes. We already knew the Air Force 1 days were pretty much over and done with, but now it seems that many cult classic sneakers are being replaced by the ultra-chic adidas Gazelle.

The style is not exactly brand new to the streets, but with sandal weather behind us, it has certainly made a particularly strong showing this fall season. In addition to dozens of colorways, the shoes now come in a variety of styles, as well. Want a classic? Opt for the originals. Need a little height? Try the “bold” version.

Not every pair of sneakers you own needs to be white. Also the original style, but in a suede finish and a vibrant color. Not into teal? There are a handful of other shades to choose from.

Actress Olivia Wilde, for one, can’t seem to get enough of the classic Gazelles. At this point, we’re convinced that the floor of her closet must be a rainbow of different shades of the style. No matter the outfit or the occasion, she seems to have just the right pair.

A post-workout walk calls for her bright pink-and-green Gazelles, the perfect addition to any sporty ’fit.

For a few extra dollars, you can add a some inches to your height in this platform version of the shoe. We recommend an eye-catching color, such as this burnt red and neon green combo. Go big or go home, right?

Like the classic low tops, these come in a simple white leather, if you’re looking for a neutral. But, may we recommend a black-and-white suede neutral shoe instead? Just a little more fun, in our humble opinion.

If you’re pro soccer player Abby Dahlkemper, you can get away with just about any footwear style, but you don’t have to be a NWSL star to rock the platform Gazelles just like her. In a campaign for the brand, she paired her classic black-and-white pair with a pantsuit, coining the look “business casual.” We approve.
