The 2021 amfAR Gala was a sparkling affair on Friday night, with a host of stars rocking sequins and crystals on the red carpet.
The highly-anticipated event, held on the final weekend of the Cannes Film Festival, was themed 'I Am A Movie Star' this year and saw Sharon Stone host proceedings.
The award-winning actress looked lovely in lilac, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana halter-neck gown with a bodice decorated in sparkling crystals, and a flowing skirt featuring pleats and feathers. Sharon completed the look with a pair of striking Chopard earrings comprised of pink, green and white gemstones shaped like flowers.
Regina King also took the opportunity to shine, looking regal in a custom-made Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, designed by artistic director Daniel Roseberry. The full-length black and white dress featured a lace-up bustier covered in shimmering black bugle beads, accessorised with striking Boucheron diamond rings and earrings.
The One Night in Miami director was thrilled to wear such an elegant outfit to the gala and was full of praise for the young designer.
"It's just super exciting to me that Daniel, this young guy from America, from Texas, really seems to be channelling all of the things that Elsa (Schiaparelli) felt were so important to express about individualism, and he's embraced that. I feel like Daniel is doing her (Schiaparelli) proud," she told WWD.
Former Glee star Darren Criss also opted for a sparkling look, sporting a suave black suit covered in sequins for the evening, while Borat Subsequent Moviefilm star Maria Bakalova wore a fitted black Armani Prive gown with sequin pink straps.
During the evening, items were auctioned to raise money for charity, with sequins also dominating the fashion pieces up for grabs.
Balmain donated a long-sleeve mid-length dress with gold sequins, while Dior's creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri offered up an embroidered black tulle jumpsuit adorned with red sequins from the pre-fall 2021 collection.
Crazy Rich Asians actress Gemma Chan continued the theme the following day in a glittering gold halter-neck gown for the closing night premiere of OSS 117: From Africa with Love on Saturday, and even wore gold sequins under her eyes.
