There's a new mega gameshow in town, with BBC One's The Traitors quickly taking over our timelines.

Following on from Netflix's similar show The Mole (which viewers were *obsessed* with), The Traitors sees 22 strangers competing to win £120,000. Filmed in a castle in the Scottish Highlands, contestants take part in challenges while trying to expose the traitors among them - with the hidden saboteurs able to eliminate their fellow players each night.

Hosted by Strictly's Claudia Winkleman, the series has seen a range of participants competing, from students to spa therapists. However, there's one contestant in particular which viewers can't stop laughing about. *Spoilers ahead*.

If you're all caught up on The Traitors, you'll be familiar with contestant Tom, a 24-year-old from Buckinghamshire who works as a magician. Sadly, Tom was evicted from the show in Wednesday night's episode, though fans have thoroughly enjoyed chatting about him online.

Tom, who was Faithful (i.e. not a Traitor) has been seen hugely hyping up his ability to 'read people' thanks to his job in the magic field. However, despite his claims at being an expert reader, Tom still wound up getting most of his Traitor predictions wrong - and fans have found the whole thing quite hilarious.

To be fair to Tom, being on a game show is a totally different experience to real life and maybe the nerves of being a Faithful contestant vs the Traitors got the better of him. Or maybe he was in on the joke the whole time?

As one Twitter user laughed, "Why does Tom think being a magician make[s] him like some sort of god[?]" Meanwhile, another joked, "Why is this guy acting like being a magician makes him a criminal profiler? #TheTraitors."

A third chimed in, "Who’s up for joining me in a drinking game of 'take a shot every time Tom mentions he’s a magician'[?]"

"Love [how] Tom confuses being a magician with being a criminal detective #TheTraitors," joked a fourth.

Still, it's all fun and games over here, and we're hoping the magic career keeps going strong!

The Traitors continues on BBC One.
