Reality TV series The Traitors is back, and already the contestants are keeping secrets from each other, and not just who amongst them is a Faithful and who is a Traitor. Viewers have already learned that Leanne is keeping her former career as a soldier a secret and is claiming to be a nail technician, Charlotte is faking a Welsh accent, and Lisa is keeping her occupation as an Anglican priest to herself.

Now it turns out that another competitor is hiding a second career: Jack, who says he is a market trader and landscaper, is also an actor in a film called The Apocalypse Box that co-stars former Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy and is currently available to view on Prime Video.

“I have secretly trained as an actor,” he admitted before the show began. “I moved to London when I was 18, moved away from Yorkshire and I didn't really tell too many of my family and friends that that’s what I was going to do, because I think there's a bit of a stigma around it in the area that I live in, people think ‘oh he wants to go off and chase the acting dream.’ So, I think I'm used to being put into situations which are hostile and unfamiliar. I think I can kind of play it a little bit dumb, maybe act like the ditzy gardener and landscaper who secretly has his own agenda, and hopefully a couple of acting skills to back that up.”

However, Jack’s game plan wasn’t put into action, as he was one of the three players who left the contest before even reaching the castle. He volunteered to leave the train along with former diplomat Alexander and development manager Fozia in exchange for the rest of the players adding £7000 to their prize pot. He gambled that he would be asked to return at a later stage of the game, but that remains to be seen. If Jack does come back, he already has a plan for what he would do with the prize money, which could reach up to £120,000.

“I am going to spend the money on buying a plot of land, a small plot of land somewhere relatively close to home,” he said. “Mum and Dad are over retirement age but they are still working the markets most days, and they're not in a financial position, as of yet, to be able to fulfil their dream, which is to have a small holding and spend the rest of their days working little farmers markets, having a couple of lodges to rent out and then a static caravan for them to live in. So that's what I would do.”

“I would put the money as far as I can into helping us wrap up everything at home, sell up and move out. That's the dream, to go off and live off the fat of the land.”
