Fans of The Traitors were left gobsmacked as a familiar face from the show's first series announced they're jetting off to Love Island USA.

Instagram was buzzing when the reality TV alum showed up in his swimwear, causing quite the stir.

Aaron Evans, who clinched victory in the inaugural season of The Traitors, hosted by Strictly’s Claudia Winkleman, is set to spice things up on Love Island USA this year.

The American spin-off of the hit dating show is kicking off its sixth season next week on Peacock, with a fresh batch of singles ready to mingle in the Fijian villa.

Aaron took to Instagram to share the exciting news, posting: "It's official. This Brit is heading overseas to @loveislandusa season 6 Tune in from June 11th."

In another cheeky post, Aaron's vital stats were shared for all to see: "Name: Aaron, Age: 26, Biggest Ick: When a girl is on her phone too much, #LoveIslandUSA."

In his introduction in the Love Island USA teaser, he admitted to still being a "mama's boy". "The Brit has arrived. I'm definitely, definitely a mama's boy. I always think 'would my mum get on with this person?' If it's no straight away then they're out," he continued.

His former Traitors buddies were quick to cheer him on, with Ash Bibi commenting: "YESSSS Aaron! ! C'mmon mate.... Rooting for ya all the way!" Wilfred Webster also chimed in with some supportive words: "Oi oi! Top man! Good luck in there."

Aaron joins a line-up of 10 hopefuls on the quest for romance. Despite previously doubting his fit for Love Island two years ago, he seems ready to dive in now.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he revealed to fans that he now works on yachts, while balancing his travelling and television appearances on shows such as First Dates.

Asked about his career, he told fans: “I am not an estate agent any more. I am currently working on yachts, which is why it is this strange background. I am just down in the cellar area, because it’s where there is the best light.”

His unexpected appearance on First Dates, as revealed in a teaser for the new series, sparked reactions from fans surprised to see the Traitors winner in the realm of romantic encounters. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user said: "Catching up on #FirstDates and Aaron from The Traitors popped up in the series preview!"

Of The Traitors, which is set in a grand Scottish castle, Aaron has spilled the beans on how much contestants earn from participating in the show.

Giving his YouTube viewers a behind-the-scenes peek in a Q&A session, he shared that contestants are 'subsidised' according to their regular earnings during filming.

He revealed: "It's roughly like £100 a day. It's not that much, but its definitely worth it."
