The Traitors season three final breaks huge record as BBC reveals viewership numbers

BBC viewers have been left with a Traitors shaped hole in their hearts after series three concluded on Friday night (January 24).

The closing moments saw Claudia Winkleman crown Faithfuls Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown the winners and recipients of the huge £94,600 cash prize.

Now the BBC have revealed that the final of the third instalment was the most viewed episode in the show's history.

The final was watched by a massive 7.4 million, which means it has topped any other episode across all three seasons.

The viewership figures are based off of those watching it live on BBC One and not on streaming platform BBC iPlayer.

This is an increase of 1.6 million from last year's finale, with Harry Clark's victory being watched by 5.8 million.

As well as this, spin-off show The Traitors: Uncloaked, which aired straight after on the channel, brought in 4.8 million viewers.

The five finalists were Jake, Leanne, Charlotte Berman, Francesca Rowan-Plowden and Alexander Dragonetti.

After the Seer twist saw Frankie find out Charlotte was a Traitor, the other three Faithfuls had difficulty deciding which woman to believe.

Following a tense roundtable, Frankie managed to make her friends believe her as all four voted for Charlotte to be banished.

As the final Traitor in the game, Charlotte wished everyone well before leaving without revealing her true identity.

The final four gathered outside the castle, where they were given an opportunity to eliminate any more people they thought were Traitors.

Jake, Leanne and Frankie all voted out Alexander before Jake and Leanne got rid of Frankie from the game.

Viewers at home were aware that both the final two were in fact Faithfuls, but they didn't know it about each other.

Claudia asked the pair to reveal their true identities as both said they were Faithfuls and hugged one another in elation.

Speaking on Uncloaked about the final moments, Leanne expressed: "I thought when Claudia revealed that we were all Faithfuls at the end, my heart was shattered.

"Then I look at Jake and he's like this [pulling a pleased with himself smile] and I'm like 'I've made the biggest mistake of my life'.”

The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer now. A celebrity version will air this year and series four has been confirmed for 2026
