K.T Robbins was an American soldier stationed in north eastern France during WWII.

He kept a photo of a woman he fell in love with at the time, Jeannine Ganaye, for 75 years.

He was returning to France ahead of the D-Day commemorations and he had just one wish.

He wanted to meet Jeannine’s family, assuming that his long-lost love had passed away.

He said: “I’d like to go and see if I can find her family. For sure I won’t ever get to see her. She’s probably gone now.”

As luck would have it, armed with a photo, her name and the village she lived in, it didn’t take long to track her down.

Their reunion was like something from a Hollywood blockbuster, but for this pair, it was all too real.

When K.T Robbins found out his long-lost love was alive, his happiness could melt even the hardiest of people.

After 75 years they came together in an emotional reunion. As K.T walks towards Jeannine, you can see years of longing in their eyes.

It doesn’t take long before the WWII veteran shares his feelings with Jeannine.

“I’ve always loved you. You never got out of my heart.” He told her.

“I always thought about him.” She told the cameras.

“Thinking that maybe he was out there, maybe he would come.”

He showed her the photo he kept of her for all these years while they were huddled in a heart-warming embrace.

When the pair had to leave each other again, they were crying at the reality of having to be apart.

They had a private moment before K.T’s car drove away.

We’re not crying, you’re crying.
