Toronto Man Charged, Second Suspect Sought, After Roman Candle Fired at Gas Station Employee

A Toronto man has been charged with assault with a weapon, mischief endangering life and forcible confinement after a gas station employee was hit with flames from a Roman candle on July 4.

Mohammed Mumin, 21, and a second suspect were captured on CCTV. This footage, released by Peel Police, shows them walking round a gas station in Mississauga before lighting the firework. The second suspect aimed the firework at the employee while Mumin filmed the incident on a cell phone.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident, police said. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the second suspect. Credit: Peel Police via Storyful
