Tornado Warnings Issued in Metropolitan Miami as Florida Braces for Hurricane Ian
Tornado warnings were issued for parts of metropolitan Miami on Tuesday, September 27, as outer bands of Hurricane Ian impacted the Sunshine State.
Davie resident Isaac Elizabeth said he took this footage from his home. It shows heavy rain and powerful winds hitting his street amid a tornado warning.
Meanwhile, tropical storm warnings were issued for Florida’s west coast, where the effects of the hurricane were expected to be most severe.
On Tuesday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported sustained winds of up to 41 mph at Key West International Airport, with a gust speed of 60 mph.
